Configure Backups on Rebit Endpoint Backup

This guide shows different types of backups supported by Rebit Endpoint Backup. You will learn to configure backups in different ways with this guide.

Rebit Endpoint Backup allows you to configure two types of backup:

  • Full system backup

  • File/folder backup

Let’s take a closer look to know what these backups mean and how Rebit Endpoint Backup helps you configure them.

Full System Backup

Using the Rebit Endpoint Backup app, you can back up an entire drive on your PC. It can be a system drive or any other hard drive on your Windows computer. Follow the steps below to get your full system backup ready.

Step 1. Open File Explorer on your computer.

Step 2. Click on This PC from the left panel in the File Explorer.

Step 3. Right-click on the drive you wish to backup under Devices and drives and select Rebit BackupBackup this drive from the context menu.

You can monitor the progress of the backups from the Rebit Endpoint Backup window. Until the backup is in progress, the drive getting backed up will display a cloud backup icon. And once the backup completes, this cloud backup icon will change into a green tick mark.

File Folder Backup

Next, we shall look into file/folder backup. You can back up your file/folder in two different ways. One is by using the Windows contextual menu, and another is by the Explore backup option in the Rebit Endpoint Backup app.

Backing up Files and Folders via Windows Context Menu

Step 1. Locate the file/folder you wish to back up in File Explorer.

Step 2. Right-click on the file/folder to open the context menu.

Step 3. Select Rebit Backup ➜ Backup this folder. If you are backing up a file, it will show the Backup this file option instead.

Step 1. Click on Backups in the Rebit Endpoint Backup window.

Step 2. When the expanded window opens, click on the Add File or Folder option.

Step 3. Select Files or Folders from the drop-down option there.

You can then select the file/folder of your choice from the Add Files/Add Folders window that pops up on your screen.

Monitor the Progress of Individual Backups

Once the selected file/folder is backed up, you will see a green tick mark next to it. However, when the backup is in progress, it is will show a blue cloud backup icon next to it.

Similarly, the progress can also be monitored on the Rebit Endpoint Backup app window.

Backup User Settings Using Rebit Endpoint Backup

You can backup Windows User settings such as Accessibility, User control, Appearance, Display, and much more using the Rebit Endpoint Backup app. To do so, follow the steps given below.

Step 1. Click on the Settings button on the Rebit Personal window.

Step 2. Select Preferences on the left side navigation bar.

Step 3. Click on the Backup Now button under Windows user settings.

Step 4. ‘Settings backup has started’ message will be displayed. Please wait till the backup process completes.

Once the User settings backup is complete, an User settings zip file will be created and stored on the cloud.

You can use it when migrating from one PC to another via cloud migration.
